DE Unemployment Down Slightly

Unemployment in Delaware dropped a tenth of a percent in October to 5.3%, but remains much higher than the national average of 4.6%. However in Sussex County the unemployment rate has dropped from 4.3% in September to 4.1% in October. The Delaware Department of Labor shows 25,800 Delawareans were unemployed in October. The DOL adds there are 3600 more who are unemployed and 15,700 fewer jobs last month than there was prior to the pandemic in February of 2020 – when Delaware’s unemployment rate was at 4.5%.
