DE Volunteer Firefighters Association Warns of Donation Scam
Lately, the Delaware Volunteer Firefighter’s Association has been inundated with people calling or sending mailings for donations for firefighter support or other names giving the impression they are representing firefighters or families of firefighters. Please think twice and check before you send them your money.
The Volunteer Fire Companies in Delaware usually do not call for donations. They do send out fund drive request usually once or twice a year. If you receive a mailing, read the name at the top of the letter. If it is not your local volunteer fire company be very careful about sending them money. If you are not sure call your local fire company to verify it is them that are requesting a donation.
