Delaware Air Quality Still Affected by NJ Forest Fire


The forest fire in the Wharton State Forest in Burlington County, New Jersey has expanded to affect 5500 acres, but is now 70% contained.

Delaware continues to be affected by smoke from this wild fire and DNREC has declared today a Code Orange Air Quality Action Day for Particulate Matter (for ozone the status is good).聽 This is an improvement over Saturday’s Code Red Air Quality Action Day.聽 聽

Officials say light to moderate winds and weather conditions will keep smoke near the ground. People with asthma, lung or heart conditions, kids and older adults should limit time outdoors.
