Delaware National Guard Adjutant General to Promote to Major General Saturday

Delaware National Guard Adjutant General, Brigadier General Michael Berry will be promoted to the rank of Major General Saturday morning.  The ceremony will take place on the steps outside of Legislative Hall at 9am.  Berry took the role as Adjutant General in March.  He is responsible for the mission readiness of all Delaware National Guard units – over 1500 Soldiers and 1100 Airmen for both federal and state missions.

Berry’s military career began in September 1988 when he enlisted in the Delaware Army National Guard under the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Simultaneous Membership Program. Major General Berry received his commission through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at the University of Delaware in May 1989.

Delaware Governor John Carney is scheduled to be in attendance, along with other state representatives and DNG Leadership.
