Delaware State Police Arrest Dover Man Following Road Rage Shooting
A 33-year-old Dover man has been arrested for a road rage incident that occurred on Korean War Veterans Memorial Highway. Joseph Novak was arrested on the morning of Tuesday, September 23rd. The incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. when according to Delaware State Police, Novak, driving a Chevrolet Silverado, allegedly began following a GMC Yukon Denali driven by a 64-year-old man. The two vehicles were involved in a period of aggressive driving that ended in a collision. Police say no one was hurt, but during the encounter, Novak is accused of firing a handgun at the Denali, and troopers did find what appeared to be bullet damage on that vehicle. Novak was taken into custody without incident. He faces charges of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony and Reckless Endangering First Degree, both of which are felonies. Novak was arraigned and released on a $2,200 secured bond. The investigation is ongoing.
