Delaware Unemployment Remains Steady in June

Delaware’s unemployment rate remained steady at 4.2% from May into June while the US rate dropped a tenth of a percent to 3.6%. In Sussex County the rate dropped from 3.8% in May to 3.7% in June.
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate in June 2023 was 4.2%, unchanged from May 2023. The biggest over-the-year job change was in Leisure and Hospitality with an increase of jobs at 4.6% – small losses were seen in information and ‘other services.’ However the Local Government sector had the largest over-the-month change in jobs – increasing by 1500.
