DelDOT Traffic Alerts: Upcoming Area Road/Turn Lane Closures

The southbound right turn lane from Mount Joy Road to Westbound Route 24 in the Millsboro area will be closed for over a week due to road work. The work begins on February 6th. DelDOT expects the project to be completed by 15th, depending on the weather. Emergency vehicles only will have access to make the right turn movement.

Detour Information from DelDOT:
Detour: Motorists wishing to turn right from Mount Joy Road to SR 24 should instead follow the posted detour: from Mount Joy Road turn right onto Cordey Road, then left turn on to Streets Road, back to SR 24.

Road Closure of Briarwood Road between Sand Hill Road and Shingle Point Road

Weather permitting, Briarwood Road between Sand Hill Road and Shingle Point Road will be closed starting on Monday, January 30th and continuing through Friday, February 17th for the installation of a crossroad pipe.

Detour:  Motorists traveling eastbound on Briarwood Road will instead travel south on Sand Hill Road through the new roundabout to US 9 (Lewes Georgetown Highway) where they will turn left.  Motorists will continue on US 9 to Shingle Point Road where they will turn left, traveling back to Briarwood Road.  Motorists traveling westbound on Briarwood Road will instead travel south on Shingle Point Road to US 9 and turn right. Motorists will continue on US 9 to Sand Hill Road where they will turn right, traveling through the new roundabout and back to Briarwood Road.

Road Closure of Wolf Road between Beach Highway (SR 16) and Oak Road

In the Greenwood area, Wolf Road between Beach Highway/Route 16 and Oak Road will be closed starting on Monday, January 30th through Friday, February 10th (weather pending)–also for the installation of a crossroad pipe.

Detour: Motorists traveling southeast on Wolf Road will instead travel east on Beach Highway and turn right onto Oak Road to continue back to Wolf Road.

Motorists traveling northwest on Wolf Road will turn right onto Oak Road to Beach Highway, where they will turn left to continue to back to Wolf Road.
