DelDOT’s Name That Plow Contest is Underway!
The 5th Annual Name That Plow Contest is looking for your creative and funny names for their snowplows! The contest is open to elementary school students in grades K through 5. Three names will be chosen – one from each county. Each winner will get a snowplow visit at their school. You can enter individually or as a class and entries are due by 11:59pm on December 5th.

Over the past four years, Delaware students have named snow plows with creative and cool names like Ice Ice Bladey, Melton John, and Darth Blader—and we can’t wait to see what’s next!
“Our snowplow crews work hard in difficult conditions to clear our roads and make them safe for travel,” said Secretary of Transportation Shanté Hastings. “The Name That Plow contest gives students a fun way to learn about our winter operations and see their creativity in action.”
DelDOT operates over 300 snow removal vehicles and maintains nearly 14,000 lane miles statewide — so your name could be rolling through Delaware this winter!
