Delmar man arrested, charged in connection with shooting

A Delmar, Delaware man was arrested on gun charges following a shooting.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, shortly before 10 p.m., Thursday troopers were dispatched to the 14000 block of Oak Branch Road in Delmar for reports of shots fired.

Troopers arrived and determined that the shots were heard coming from the home of 26-year-old Tabvon L. Sabb.

Troopers responded to Sabb’s residence where they discovered three empty 270 Winchester rifle bullets on the back porch.

Further investigation revealed an unloaded Remington 270 Winchester rifle inside the residence.

When police made contact with Sabb, they detected an odor of alcohol. A computer inquiry revealed he was a person prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Sabb was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited and Possession of a Firearm while under the influence. He was arraigned and released on $11,000 unsecured bond.
