Delmarva Power offering free trees to help lower power bills

Delmarva Power offering free trees to residential customers to help conserve energy and reduce energy bills. Officials say that in the summer, shade trees can reduce residential cooling costs by up to 30 percent, while in the winter trees reduce wind speeds and block cold air from penetrating homes. There are about 12-hundred trees available this year, which Delmarva Power estimates will translate into $380,000 in energy savings over the next 20 years.
