Delmarva’s Super Spellers Compete Saturday in both Delaware and Maryland

Saturday, March 7th is the 2026 Delaware Regional Spelling Bee. This year’s Bee will be held at the Del Tech Terry Campus in Dover. Spellers should arrive by 8am and breakfast and lunch will be provided.  The program will begin at 8:30 and the spelling starts at 9am.  The Bee brings together students from all three counties for a single statewide academic stage.
One student will advance to represent Delaware at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.  Every student competing has already won at the school level to earn a place in this field.

The Maryland Eastern Shore Regional Spelling Bee will also take place on Saturday, March 7th beginning at 10am (doors open at 8:30am) – at the Ella Fitzgerald Center for the Performing Arts at UMES in Princess Anne. 50 elementary and middle school students from public and private schools in Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties will vie for the chance to represent the Lower Eastern Shore in the 101st Scripps National Spelling Bee in late May.  Admission to the event is free and open to the public.
