Dewey Beach PD Investigating New Year’s Morning Assault

The Dewey Beach Police Department need your help to identify a man involved in a serious assault that occurred on on New Year’s around 1:37am. Police say a group of people were standing on the sidewalk on southbound Coastal Highway in the area Bellevue Street., when a 21 year old male victim from Wilmington was assaulted by a white male in his 20’s. It’s believed the assault was unprovoked and the victim was taken to Christiana Care in critical condition.
