DMV Inspection & Maintenance Changes Begin August 14 in Delaware

Beginning in mid-August drivers will see changes at the DMV that will impact the registration of their vehicles – especially here in Sussex County. In January, DNREC revised the Motor Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance regulations in an attempt to reduce emissions and improve air quality.
DMV officials say there are over a million vehicles registered in the State of Delaware – over 323,500 of them in Sussex County.
Residents in Sussex County are urged to give yourself extra time for registration renewal, especially if they believe their vehicle will need repair under the new regulations. You do have up to 90 days prior to expiration to renew your registration.
