DNREC: Cape Henlopen pier, Holt’s Landing boat ramp closing for repairs

Portions of Cape Henlopen Fishing Pier closing until further notice. DNREC officials announced yesterday a 20-foot portion of the pier had to be closed after sustaining ice damage over the winter. Engineers evaluated the extent of the damage and determined that the end of the pier must be closed immediately, they did not provide a time frame for its re-opening. The closures only relate to the front portion of the pier, the rest remains open.

DNREC also announcing it will close the boat ramp and adjacent parking lot at Holts Landing State Park in Dagsboro later this month on weekdays while renovations are made to improve the parking lot and add 36 new boat trailer parking spaces. Officials say the construction will last into May; the lot and ramp will be open on weekends.
