Dover Man Arrested for Multiple Commercial Burglary Incidents

Dover Police have arrested and charged a Dover man in connection with three commercial burglary-related incidents over the past week. Investigators say 33-year-old Shawn Jones was identified as the suspect in a burglary that occurred at Kent Liquor Mart, where surveillance video showed a person breaking a glass door with a rock, entering the store, and stealing multiple alcoholic beverages. Police say Jones was also connected to two attempted burglaries on August 4th and 5th at Little Grocer and Lepore Liquors. In those incidents, a suspect matching the same description attempted to break into the businesses but fled without gaining entry. Evidence collected from the scenes, including a damaged sweatshirt and other items, helped investigators identify Jones. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $36,000 cash bond.
