Dover man charged in Milford shooting investigation

A Dover man was arrested and charged in connection with a shooting in Milford.

According to the Milford Police Department, around 12:30 a.m., Saturday officers responded to the Brightway Commons community development to investigate a possible shots fired incident.

Police arrived and learned that several rounds of bullets struck an unoccupied vehicle.

28-year-old William Harris, of Dover, was identified as one of the individuals allegedly involved, according to police. He reportedly removed evidence from the scene prior to fleeing.

On Tuesday, Harris was apprehended by the United States Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force in Milford.

Harris has been charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Weapon in a Safe School Zone, Giving a Firearm to Person Prohibited, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Conspiracy Second Degree, and Criminal Mischief Over $1000.

Harris was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $67,500 secured bail.
