Dover Man Charged in Shooting Incident Sunday Morning in Dover

Dover Police were called to West Loockerman Street early Sunday morning for a shots fired complaint. Police were able to determine that 36 year old Anthony Simpson of Dover fired a handgun in front of a crowd and left in a vehicle. He was found in an apartment on South New Street and arrested without incident. Police also recovered the handgun believed to be used in the incident. The handgun was also reported stolen. Simpson was transported to the Dover Police Department where he was processed and arraigned and charged with multiple offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony聽
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon聽
- Receiving Stolen Firearm聽
- Possession of a Firearm While Intoxicated聽
- Disorderly Conduct聽
- Discharging a Firearm within City Limits
Simpson was committed to SCI on $24,650 secured bail.聽 Simpson is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
