UPDATE: Dover Police Conducting Homicide Investigation After Shooting on Kent Ave
UPDATE 07/02/26: Dover Police say a shooting in the Capital Green area early Sunday morning has become a homicide investigation after 18-year-old Christopher Waters of Dover died from his injuries Thursday. Officers responded to Kent Avenue shortly after midnight on June 28th and found Waters suffering from a gunshot wound. Investigators recovered more than 30 shell casings at the scene. Police also recovered a black Honda Accord believed to be connected to the shooting after it was found burned in a field near Felton. The investigation remains ongoing.

Original Story – 06/29/26 –Ā Dover Police are investigating a shooting just after midnight Sunday that left an 18 year old man in critical condition. Police were called to Kent Avenue just after midnight and found the victim in the passenger seat of a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is in critical condition.
Investigators found over 30 shell casing at the scene from the incident.
