Dover Police Make Arrest in Liquor Store Burglary

Dover Police have arrested a Dover man on burglary charges. Police were called to Driftwood Spirits on South Bradford Street just after 3:30 Saturday morning for an alarm and found the front door open on arrival. Their investigation showed the suspect entered through the duct work, removed merchandise and then left. Downtown surveillance video showed the suspect and officers located 56 year old James Smith in the area of South New and Reed Streets where he was arrested. Smith is charged with:

  • 3rd degree burglary
  • theft
  • criminal mischief

He was released on a $2000 unsecured bail.
