Two more flu related deaths in Delaware, bringing the total to 30. That sets a new record for a flu season.

The Department of Health says the two latest victims were elderly women form Kent  and New Castle Counties and had pre-existing health conditions. The total number of flu cases recorded this season is 7,071– also a record.

The better news—the number of cases reported week to week dropped for the second week in a row, meaning the flu season may have peaked. DPH continues to emphasize the importance of calling your primary care provider or going to a walk-in clinic at the first sign of illness, and taking antivirals if prescribed.
