DSP Arrest Laurel Man for April Burglary

A Laurel man who was wanted in connection with a burglary on April 26th has been arrested by Delaware State Police. A trooper had spotted 49 year old Robert Jefferson in the area of East Trap Pond Road on Thursday and attempted a traffic stop, but Jefferson failed to stop – and a pursuit began. Eventually Jefferson stopped and ran into a wooded area near Shiloh Church Road. A search turned up nothing. Around 4 this morning Jefferson came out of the woods and was arrested and charged with 3rd degree burglary, 3 counts of theft of a firearm and numerous other offenses. He’s being held at SCI in default of an over $15,000 secured bond.
