UPDATE: Arrests Made in Rodney Village Drive-by Shooting Case
UPDATE: 7/17/25: Delaware State Police have arrested 41-year-old Tyrell Clark and a 16-year-old girl, both from Dover, in connection with a drive-by shooting that happened in Rodney Village this past May. According to State Police, shortly before 5:00 a.m. troopers were called to a home on Samuel Paynter Drive after reports of gunfire. Investigators say a vehicle pulled up in front of the house, fired several shots, and then took off. No injuries were reported. After looking into the case, detectives identified Clark and the teen as suspects and issued warrants for their arrest. Clark, who is legally barred from having a gun or ammo, was taken into custody on June 27th. He was brought to Troop 3, formally charged, and later held at Sussex Correctional Institution on an $83,000 cash bond. Yesterday, July 16th the 16-year-old turned herself in at Troop 3. She was charged with multiple crimes, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released to a parent/guardian on her own recognizance.

On July 16, 2025, the 16-year-old turned herself in at Troop 3. She was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released to a parent/guardian on her own recognizance.

- Criminal Mischief $1,000 but less than $5,000

Delaware State Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred just before 5am Saturday in the Rodney Village area of Dover. Police were called to Samuel Paynter Drive for a report of shots fired – and learned that a vehicle pulled up in front of the home and fired multiple gunshots before driving off.
No injuries were reported and the motive for the shooting is unclear.
