UPDATED: DSP Investigating Fatal Motorcycle Crash East of Frankford

UPDATED – 09/20/25 – Delaware State Police have identified 22-year-old Michael Peterson, of Millville, Delaware, as the man who died in the fatal motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon in Frankford.

ORIGINAL STORY – 09/19/25 – A Millville man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Thursday afternoon around 4:15 in the area of Camp Barnes Road and Estuary Boulevard east of Frankford. Delaware State Police say the 22 year old Millville man on a Yamaha sport bike and two other mini-motorcycles were all southbound on Camp Barnes Road when the Yamaha – traveling at a high rate of speed – attempted to pass the two mini-motorcycles on a double yellow line.

Police say the operator of the Yamaha lost control and went off the roadway and struck a traffic sign causing the rider to be ejected. The Millville man was wearing a full-face helmet – he was pronounced dead at the scene.
