Easton Family Displaced after Attic Fire Thursday Morning


A family is Easton has been displaced after fire heavily damaged a Hawkes Hill Road home Thursday morning. The occupant returned to the home and saw smoke and fire coming from the home and called 9-1-1. Easton firefighters arrived at the scene and two-story single family home with smoke showing. Firefighters say it took nearly 2 hours to bring the 2 alarm fire under control.

State Fire Marshal investigators say the fire began in the attic after an electrical failure in the attic.聽 The home did have a working smoke alarm which was activated.聽聽

Damage is estimated at $400,000. Six family members were displaced.
