Electronic speed cameras are now active on southbound Route 1 in the Minos Conaway Road Grade-separated intersection work zone in the Lewes area. DelDOT has placed signage on Route 1 south in advance of the work zone along with the radar speed signs. For the first 21 days you will get a warning with no violations given. Beginning on Tuesday, November 11 registered vehicle owners receiving a first offense will be fined $20 and an additional amount added for each mile per hour over the posted work zone speed limit of 50mph.

This week the new northbound Route 1 overpass at Route 16 began to cross Route 16. Route 16 is closed from 7pm to 7am through Thursday, October 23, between Jefferson Road and Grand Drive while crews erect the girders that will carry Route 1 on the new northbound roadway which is expected to open in early 2026.
