Felton Man Arrested for Theft & Crime Against a Vulnerable Adult

Lewes Police have arrested a Felton man for a crime against a vulnerable adult and theft. Police were notified on January 17th of a possible theft from a 76 year old infirm resident at the Excel Senior Housing Development and learned that the resident was months behind in payments and her bank account was nearly empty in spite of receiving monthly Social Security payments.
A forensic investigation was launched into the missing funds. Police learned the victim’s grandson, 31 year old Zachary Thacker, the victim’s power of attorney removed over $4000 without the victim’s consent for personal gain and drugs.
Thacker was arrested at his home on February 5th and charged with a crime against a vulnerable adult and theft over $1500 with the victim over 62 years of age.
Thacker was released on his own recognizance and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
