Fire at County Seat Apartments in Georgetown Saturday Accidental

Georgetown firefighters were called for a residential structure fire on Saturday night around 9 on Jury Way at the County Seat Apartments. Firefighters arriving at the scene found the fire occurred in a multi-family structure with an automatic sprinkler activation. The fire occurred on an apartment balcony area that was controlled by the building’s automatic sprinkler system. Everyone in the building was able to get out safely.

State Fire Marshal investigators determined the fire to be accidental – the result of discarded smoking materials. Damage was estimated at $1000.

One firefighter was treated for a minor injury that occurred on the scene.
