Fire destroys home, kills woman in Berlin

A fire has destroyed a home and claimed the life a woman in Berlin.
According to the Worcester County Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire broke out around 6 p.m., Sunday at a home on Trappe Road.
First responders arrived and reported heavy fire coming from the home.
A woman was located inside the home and transported to a local hospital where she later died. Her identity has not yet been released.
No other injuries were reported with the fire.
The house did not have a working smoke alarm or residential fire sprinklers.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
