UPDATED: Investigation into Blaze at Greenwood Business Continues
UPDATED – 11/14/23 – Greenwood firefighters were called for a structure fire just after 8 Monday night on North First Street and found smoke ad flames coming from an unoccupied maintenance structure at the New Process Fibre Company. Multiple companies from Sussex, Kent and Caroline Counties assisted. State Fire investigators continue to look for the cause and origin of the fire. There were no reported injuries and damage is estimated at $100,000. Anyone with information on this fire – should contact 302-856-5600. ORIGINAL STORY – 11/13/23 – Firefighters from Greenwood were called for a structure fire at the New Process Fibre Company on North 1st Street in Greenwood just after 8 Monday night. Crews arriving at the scene found the single story commercial building with fire showing and a second alarm was struck. Firefighters from Sussex, Kent and Caroline Counties assisted Greenwood Fire Company.
The State Fire Marshal is investigating.
