Even beyond Thanksgiving, though the Food Bank doesn’t specifically have a Christmastime distribution, 聽many of their partners do, so they’ll be collecting holiday food items through the Christmas holiday season as well.
The Food Bank of Delaware facility on 102 Delaware Veterans Boulevard is benefiting the community in a number of ways.聽
The ways in which they are supporting the community out of that facility include a training program in warehouse and logistics, the healthy pantry center, culinary training, as well as the cafe for the community that helps support their culinary training program. The Food Bank of Delaware is conducting their Thanksgiving Food Drive with dates for planned mass distributions to be announced soon. For more information, go to fbd.org.
In addition to the announcement this week that Delaware will fund Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for Delawareans on a week by week basis through November, food assistance programs across the state, including the Food Bank of Delaware, will be receiving extra help.
In addition to the assistance from the state, their state-of-the-art facility in Milford, which has been up and running for almost two years now, is already benefiting the community with additional services, and they are grateful for any help from the community as their Thanksgiving Food Drive continues.
