Former Milton fire chief has lawsuit thrown out

A lawsuit against Milton Fire Department brought by its former chief is thrown out of court on technicality. Cape Gazette reporting Lynn Rogers sued Milton Fire Department for defamation, civil conspiracy and other claims, but the lawsuit thrown out since it was not filed within a 2-year statutory limit.

Rogers was a member of the fire department for 49 years, serving as chief for 39; however, he says he was wrongfully stripped of his membership in 2014 and barred from participating in department functions or from responding to emergencies as a volunteer.
