A Georgetown man has been arrested in connection with a series of burglaries at Donovan’s Salvage Works in Georgetown. Delaware State Police were called when staff noticed missing inventory since December of last year – and spotted footprints in the snow leading away from the business. Police found some of the missing inventory on a nearby property – and staff reported seeing 50 year old Gary Calloway – who worked at the business 2 years ago – in the area. Police learned that between November 2025 and last month, Calloway damaged a lock and committed 7 overnight burglaries – stealing about $5000 worth of inventory – some of which was pawned using a deceased family member’s ID. Calloway was arrested on Friday in Ellendale.
He was taken to Troop 4 where he was charged with following offenses:
- Identity Theft (Felony)
- Burglary Third Degree (Felony) – 7 counts
- Possession of Burglar Tools (Felony)
- Theft Under $1,500 – 7 counts
- Falsifying Business Records
- Selling Stolen Property Under $1,500 – 9 counts
- Criminal Mischief Under $1,000
Calloway was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $47,100 unsecured bond.
