Georgetown man arrested on burglary charges

A Georgetown man has been arrested and charged in connection with a local burglary.

According to the Georgetown Police Department, late last month, troopers responded to a residence in the 29000 block of Koi Pond Road in Georgetown for reports of a burglary.

Troopers arrived and met with the homeowners who said they were away on vacation and when they returned they found their house had been broken into and ransacked.

The homeowners reported numerous collectable coins and jewelry missing along with multiple firearms.

27-year-old Jaydeem S. Maddox was taken into custody Monday at the Sussex Family Court in Georgetown in connection with the burglary.

Maddox was charged with Burglary Second Degree, Theft (Felony), Theft of a Firearm, Selling Stolen Property (Felony), Conspiracy Second Degree, Falsifying Business Records, and Criminal Mischief. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $12,700.00 secured bond.
