UPDATED: DSP Identify Georgetown Man Who Died in Crash in Milford

UPDATED – 01/13/26 – Delaware State Police have identified 37 year old Linwood Owens, Jr. of Georgetown as the man who died in the fatal crash Sunday night in Milford.

ORIGINAL STORY – 01/12/26 – A single vehicle crash in Milford left a Georgetown man dead. Delaware State Police observed the driver of an Altima commit a traffic violation on Johnson Road in the Lincoln area – and a computer check showed a registration violation. A traffic stop was made, but the driver of the Altima then sped off – and the trooper gave chase.

The driver of the Altima drover recklessly and at a high rate of speed and the pursuit was canceled. Shortly after the Altima drove off the side of Lakeview Avenue in Milford striking a tree and bushes in a private yard before colliding with a large tree.

The driver is a 37 year old man from Georgetown who later died at an area hospital.
