Georgetown Municipal Election Set for May 9 to Elect Mayor and 2 Council Members

Georgetown voters will be going to the polls on Saturday, May 9 to elect a new mayor and 2 town council members. There are three candidates running for mayor – Itzel Hernandez, Angela Townsend and Geoffrey Walker. Current Mayor, Bill West, announced several weeks ago that he was not running for re-election. There are two candidates running for the Ward 3 seat – incumbent Eric Evans is challenged by Michael Briggs. Incumbent Penuel Barrett is the only candidate to file for the Ward 4 seat.

If you have not registered to vote in the Georgetown election, the deadline to register at the Department of Elections on North Race Street is Wednesday, May 6.
