Girl Shot With BB Gun; Suspect Charged

An Ellendale man is charged with firing a BB-gun at an eleven-year-old girl who was riding his bicycle.
According to Delaware State Police, 18-year-old James Adkins retrieved the weapon during an argument with the girl. She was shot in the ‘lower torso’ with a BB, but she was not taken anywhere for medical attention.
Troopers took Adkins into custody at his home. He is charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and menacing.
Adkins has been released on unsecured bond.
