Gov. Moore: Maryland Rebuilding Two years after Key Bridge Tragedy
March 26, 2026/
Two years after the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge, Maryland Governor Wes Moore says the state is making rapid progress on recovery and rebuilding. In an op-ed in the Baltimore Sun, Moore emphasized honoring the victims, supporting affected families, and highlighting Marylanders’ resilience. He noted that cleanup, funding distribution, and reopening the Port of Baltimore were completed at record speed, with more than $42 million in aid delivered. The bridge reconstruction is also moving unusually fast for a project of its size, backed by strong federal-state coordination. Moore says the state remains committed to fully rebuilding and reopening the bridge while continuing to support impacted communities.
