As our country prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary of Separation Day and American independence next year, Governor Matt Meyer has signed House Bill 250 to create a new special license plate to commemorate the semiquincentennial. Proceeds from this special license plate will go towards parades, programs and events that will bring Delawareans together to celebrate this milestone. Applications for the special plate will be taken by the Division of Motor Vehicles beginning on September 22. The tag costs $50 – $15 goes to the DMV to cover the cost of production and the rest to the DE 250 organization which is the state’s official undertaking in commemoration of the country’s 250th anniversary.
