Laurel Man Arrested for Truck Stop Robbery

Delaware State Police have arrested a 40-year-old Laurel man for a robbery that occurred early yesterday morning at the Oasis Travel Plaza truck stop in Laurel. On August 22nd at about 2:00 a.m., troopers arrived at the truck stop and learned that the robber put his hand in his pocket and threatened to shoot the cashier if she did not open the cash register drawer. The cashier complied, and the man stole money and cigarettes before fleeing the scene. The victim was not hurt and was able to show troopers surveillance video of the robbery. Later that morning, the Seaford Police Department responded to the M&T Bank located on Sussex Highway for a robbery involving the same person, who had been identified as Toshawn Furlow. Furlow was then arrested at Hollybrook Farms Apartments in Laurel and faces several charges. He is at the Sussex Correctional Institution on $62,100 cash bond.
