Laurel Man Arrested on Drug and Weapon Charges; 7 Children Found During Search Warrant

An investigation into a case of a man who was suspected to be selling guns and drugs in Kent and Sussex Counties has led to the arrest of 19-year-old Timothy Cannon of Laurel. Delaware State Police say yesterday, at about 11:16 a.m., a search warrant was executed on Cannon’s home on Horsey Avenue in Laurel. Detectives found the following items in his bedroom:

  • A 9mm handgun, ammunition, and magazines
  • Approximately 15.77 grams of cocaine
  • Digital scale

Detectives also found seven children in the residence while executing the search warrant. The children, ranging in ages from one to 15 were not injured. They were turned over to an adult. Cannon faces several drug and weapons charges and is now at Sussex Correctional Institution on $37,500 secured bond.
