Delaware State Police apprehend a Laurel man after a high speed chase. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, when a State Trooper saw a suspect, David Burns of Laurel, wanted by Seaford Police for stealing a license plate. The trooper tried to pull over Burns in a grocery store parking lot, but he took off.

Burns was seen weaving in and out of traffic, blasting through red lights, and travelling at a high rate of speed trying to escape the police. Eventually, Burns crashed into a vehicle at Trussum Pond Road in the northbound lanes of Route 13. He continued on, crashing into another vehicle in the southbound lanes.  There were two people the cars, neither seriously injured.

Burns then started running on foot; a k-9 unit soon found him in a small ditch, hiding behind a toilet. He was charged with vehicular assault, receiving stolen property and many more charges and taken to Sussex Correction on over $26,000 bond.
