Laurel Man Pleads Guilty to Manslaughter in 2017 Shooting

A 19 year old man has pleaded guilty to the shooting death of another man last year at a Laurel apartment complex. DOJ officials say Stephon Jackson of Laurel shot Mekell Horsey in January of 2017 at the Wexford Village Apartments. Jackson pleaded guilty to manslaughter and other offenses and faces a minimum sentence of 11 years up to a maximum 105 years in prison. He will be sentenced later this year.
