UPDATED: Laurel Police Make Arrest in Shooting at Little Creek Apartment Complex
UPDATED – 04/12/26 – An arrest in a shooting incident at the Little Creek Apartments in Laurel on April 1st. With help from witnesses and the public, Laurel Police have identified a suspect – a 16 year old black male from Laurel. An arrest warrant was subsequently obtained charging him with the following offenses:
- Attempted Manslaughter
- Assault in the First Degree
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession, Purchase, Ownership, or Control of a Firearm/Destructive Weapon Within 10 Years of a Prior Felony Conviction
- Reckless Endangering in the First Degree (creating a substantial risk of death to another)
- Criminal Mischief Over $1,000 (three counts)
Police received information on Friday that the suspect was in Maryland and with help from Cambridge Police he was located and arrested. The suspect was found with a loaded ‘ghost gun’ equipped with a high-capacity magazine and modified for fully automatic fire. The ammunition is consistent with what was recovered from the April 1st incident.
The suspect is being held pending extradition to Delaware. This remains an active investigation. Additional charges may be forthcoming as the investigation continues.

ORIGINAL STORY – 04/02/26 – Laurel Police are investigating a shooting that was reported yesterday, April 1st around 7:53 p.m. at the Little Creek Apartment Complex. Officers arriving at the scene encountered a large, uncooperative crowd of about 300 people but were able to locate a man with a gunshot wound. Officers provided aid until EMS transported the victim to TidalHealth Nanticoke, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and is reported in stable condition. Multiple agencies assisted in securing the scene, and the investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to identify a suspect (s).
