Lewes business owner sentenced in child porn case

A Lewes man sentenced to over 3 years in federal prison for participating in a child sex ring.

Prosecutors with the US Department of Justice say John Alwood, co-owner of the Lewes Daily Market, would view child pornography for several hours a day over the past 10 years. They say Alwood used internet software to communicate with other pedophiles as well as view live-streams of child porn.

US Attorney David Weiss says his office is committed to protecting children from the shadow industry that produces distributes and collects child pornography. Alwood pled guilty to charges in December and was sentenced yesterday to 3 years behind bars.
