Lincoln man indicted in the death of his son

A Lincoln man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of his son.

According to the Delaware State Police Department, the incident took place on July 10, around 8:26 p.m. as troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 15000 block of Winner Circle in Lincoln for a death investigation. 

Troopers arrived and located 34-year-old Brian Chirdon suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Sussex Bayhealth Hospital in Milford and then transferred to Christiana Hospital where he later died.

On Monday, August 19, a Sussex County grand jury indicted David Chirdon, 62, of Lincoln, charging him with Manslaughter and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony.

Chirdon turned himself the following day. He was arraigned at Sussex County Superior Court and released after posting $40,000.00 secured bond.
