Lincoln Woman Arrested for Assault

A Lincoln woman has been arrested by Delaware State Police after an incident Friday morning at the Delaware State Fair in Harrington. Police learned the victim was arguing with an acquaintance – a 26 year old man – while he was driving her to Sussex County. The victim requested to be dropped off at the Harrington Casino instead and when they arrived at Gate 7, the man forcibly removed the victim from the vehicle. As she reached in the vehicle to get her purse – a rear passenger, 28 year old Caitlynn Scott of Lincoln, sprayed the victim with pepper spray.
The driver and rear passenger drove off and the victim was taken to an area hospital for injuries from the pepper spray. Police found the suspect vehicle in Milford and made a traffic stop.
Both were arrested – the driver was charged with a misdemeanor. Scott was charged with 2nd degree assault and released on a $3000 unsecured bond.
