Magnolia Man Charged with 5th Offense DUI

A Magnolia man has been arrested for DUI and other offenses. Delaware State Police spotted a driver not wearing a seatbelt in the area of Peachtree Run and Walnut Shade Road and made a traffic stop. While speaking with the driver, 63 year old Edward Soja of Magnolia, the trooper detected an odor of alcohol on his breath. Soja refused to take a standard field sobriety test and was arrested and taken to Troop 3 where additional DUI tests were conducted. A computer check showed four prior DUI-related convictions and that Soja had a suspended/revoked driver’s license.
Soja was charged with the crimes listed below:聽
- 5th Offense DUI (Felony)
- Driving while Suspended or Revoked
- Not Wearing a Seatbelt
- Multiple Traffic Violations
Soja was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $6,255 secured bond.
