Maryland Man Arrested for Assaulting Bethany Beach Parking Enforcement Officer

Bethany Beach Police have arrested a White Hall, Maryland man for assaulting a Bethany Beach Parking Enforcement Officer. Police were called to South Atlantic Avenue around 4:30 Saturday afternoon.聽 Police say 24 year old Eric Peluso was returning to his vehicle when he saw the Parking Officer writing a ticket for his vehicle. Words were exchanged between the two and then Peluso grabbed the Parking Officer, tackling him to the ground. Peluso then took the parking tablet from the Parking Officer and threw it at him while he was still on the ground. Peluso also placed his foot on the throat of the Parking Officer.聽 Peluso attempted to drive off but was stopped by Bethany Beach Police and arrested.

- Disorderly Conduct (Misdemeanor)
The parking officer was treated for minor injuries and released.
