Maryland State Police Investigating Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash In Somerset County
One person is dead and three others injured after a聽two-vehicle crash that occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. yesterday in Somerset County.聽Around 5:21 p.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Princess Anne Barrack responded to the area of Ocean Highway (U.S. Route 13) at Flower Hill Church Road for the report of the crash. Police say a Kia was attempting to cross southbound Ocean Highway when for unknown reasons, was struck by a Jeep.聽The driver of a Kia Soul, a 72-year-old female, was pronounced deceased on the scene. Two passengers in the Kia and the driver of the jeep were transported to medical facilities for treatment of their injuries.聽

One passenger in the Kia was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment of their injuries. Another passenger in the Kia was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. The driver of a Jeep was also transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
All southbound lanes were closed. Personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with the road closure. The crash investigation remains active and ongoing. 聽聽
