May 5th Hearing in Snow Hill on Proposed FY27 Water and Wastewater Rate Increases in Worcester County

In Snow Hill, Maryland, a hearing is scheduled regarding proposed water and wastewater rate changes in Worcester County for fiscal year 2027. The hearing will take place May 5th at 6 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room in the Worcester County Government Center in Snow Hill. The public is invited. Rate increases are proposed in 10 of the County鈥檚 11 water and wastewater sanitary service areas (SSAs). No changes are proposed for the West Ocean City SSA. Proposed changes include an increase of about five percent to the base fee鈥攖he fixed charge customers pay regardless of water use鈥攁s well as updates to how water usage is billed for both residential and commercial customers. These adjustments are intended to keep up with rising costs to operate, maintain, and improve the systems that provide clean water and wastewater treatment.
